Not so. I did indeed mean Protoavis. I would have mentioned Avimimus, but
for a few problems. The first is, of course, it could be a chimaera,
although Watabe did a talk at the University of Washington last year with
new remains supposedly showing it was real. I personally believe it is a
real taxon. Secondly, in all my analyses it comes out as the sister group
of another arctometatarsalian taxon (either mononykines or troodontids).
Thus, as either a chimaera or the sister group of another arcto (in my
opinion), it doesn't help to prove my point that the arctometatarsus evolved
more than once.
