Dinosaur Genera List corrections #129

This note arrived from Jean Le Loeuff in France:

"A new dinosaur genus was published in the last issue of Oryctos (December
1999):

"Cedarosaurus weiskopfae Tidwell, Carpenter and Brooks

"Precise reference is :
Virginia Tidwell, Kenneth Carpenter & William Brooks, 1999. "New sauropod
from the Lower Cretaceous of Utah, USA," Oryctos 2: 21-37.

"The genus is named from the Cedar Mountain Formation. Species is dedicated
to the late Carol Weiskopf.

"Cedarosaurus is known from a partial skeleton; it is referred to the family
Brachiosauridae."

Accordingly, we add genus #874 to the Dinosaur Genera List, the first new
entry in the year 2000:

Cedarosaurus Tidwell, Carpenter & Brooks, 1999

We also add the following entry to the list of North American dinosaur
species:

Cedarosaurus Tidwell, Carpenter & Brooks, 1999
    C. weiskopfae Tidwell, Carpenter & Brooks, 1999?

Odd to be notified of a North American dinosaur by a European paleontologist!
