I also doubt this is accurate, or rather, I doubt this means anything.  Keep
in mind that "today" encompasses the last few thousand years while the
Cretaceous was millions of years long.  At any given point, the size range
could have been different.  For instance, Liaoxiornis is from the Barremian,
while Gargantuavis is from the Maastrichtian.  These birds existed over
fifty million years apart.
