Prevailing usage is a powerful argument, but one must start somewhere. Of
course, with >so many< theropod clades to be named, there's room not only for
a Coelurosauria and a Coeluria, but also for a Coelurosauriformes,
Coelurosauromorpha, Coeluromorpha, Coeluriformes, ...
I don't believe Marsh considered Compsognathus and Coelurus to be
particularly closely related; he had Compsognathus pretty far removed from
the other theropods, as I recall.
