All Those Pretty Birdies....
It seems that lately, you can go to El Brete, or Las
Hoyas, or Sihetun, or some other lagerstatten, and
just find a new genus and species of bird. Or three.
Hou Lian-Hai has 5 to his credit for 1997 alone.
Can those birdie-types out there supply me with
references for the following avians? Any help would be
appreciated most sincerely. Especially those newer
post-1990 discoveries in Dzharakhuduk and Liaoning....
*Boluochia* Zhou, 1995
*Cathayornis* Zhou, Jin, and Zhang, 1992
*Chaoyangia* Hou and Zhang, 1993
*Concornis* Sanz and Buscalioni, 1992
*Cuspirostriornis* Hou, 1997
*Eoenantiornis* Hou, Martin, Zhou, and Feduccia,
1999
*Gurilynia* Kurochkin, 1999
*Horezmavis* Nessov and Borkin, 1983
*Iberomesornis* Sanz and Bonaparte, 1992
*Judinornis* Nessov and Borkin, 1983
*Kuszholia* Nessov, 1992
*Kyzylkumavis* Nessov, 1984
*Liaoningornis* Hou, 1997
*Liaoxiornis* Hou and Chen, 1999
*Longchengornis* Hou, 1997
*Longirostriornis* Hou, 1997
*Otogornis* Hou, 1994
*Songlingornis* Hou, 1997
*Zhyraornis* Nessov, 1984
Also the reference for the multiple species of
*Confuciusornis*? (But not *C. sanctus* [got that] or
*Changchengornis*.)
Thanks in advance,
=====

Dinosaurs are horrible, terrible creatures! Even the
fluffy ones, the snuggle-up-at-night-with ones. You think
they're fun and sweet, but watch out for that stray tail
spike! Down, gaston, down, boy! No, not on top of Momma!
