This just in from the Hollywood Reporter

"Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they can still rule. About 10.7 million
people watched "Walking With Dinosaurs," the three-hour special shown on the
Discovery Channel on Sunday night, making it the most-watched nonsports
event on cable TV during the 1999-2000 season; the rating was an 8.0. Based
on preliminary Discovery Channel numbers, about 40 million viewers saw some
part of the special during its two Sunday telecasts."
(This broke the previous record, which was "Raising the Mammoth").
