IIRC, u is pronounced like German umlaut-u after the palatal consonants y, q,
j, and x. Incidentally, to get back to dinosaurs, this is the source of the
confusion in the name Chiayusaurus/Chiayüsaurus/Chiayuesaurus and some other
names.
