Chimps are now known to eat a lot of meat. See Craig Stanford's "The
Hunting Apes": In peak hunting years, the Kasakela chimpanzee community
at Gombe consumes nearly a ton of meat, and the contribution of animal
protein to the diet can rival that of some human societies.
