The Life of Birds - Part 2

Part 2 of The Life of Birds examines in thrilling detail the mechanics
behind their ability to fly. From swan to hummingbird, the slow-
motion images offer unbelievable insights into the avian aerial
lifestyles.

Great photographic moments include the superimposing of the
skeletal system onto a golden eagle and many shots of the wing
movements of a variety of birds, with accompanying explanations of
what it takes for that particular bird to fly. The Canadian goose, which
flies an amazing 1000 miles in 70 hours, the peregrine falcon making
flight adjustments while diving at prey, the barn owl flying so slowly
and purposefully--wonderful images.

The vast nesting grounds of the geese brought to mind a hadrosaur
nesting site from scores of millions of years ago--a pleasant thought
on the continuance and perseverance of nature's strategies.
