I`m not a preparator,but have done my share of patching in the construction
field. There`s a product called "Flash Patch" (also one called "dash patch"
a bit grittier though). It mixes with water like plaster or Durhams, but
dries hard like Durhams,...only is much cheaper as it comes in bulk. It is
used to level floors before tiling.

(PS...you know -of course- that addition of small amounts of vinegar, or any
acid, will extend the setting time of Plaster, Flash patch, and -I think-
Durhams as well)

(probably good for Sauropod bones as it won`t empty your wallet!....8^)
