Re: Mystery Painting
I've just been informed that the artist who created the large Camarasaurus
painting at the National Museum was Robert Bruce Horsfall. This is quite a
surprise. Horsfall is best known for his mammal restorations in Scott's _A
History of Land Mammals in the Western Hemisphere_and the skeletal
illustrations (which are gorgeous) in the White River monographs. He was also
an accomplished bird artist and diorama backround painter. This is the only
dinosaur I've heard of him doing. Dan Varner.
