In a recent JVP article, Chure and Madsen (1998) present a strong case for
referring a theropod braincase from the Morrison Formation (Late Jurassic)
to the Tyrannosauridae. Their case for referring this braincase (UUVP 2455)
to the species _Stokesosaurus clevelandi_ is weaker. Before the description
of the braincase, _Stokesosaurus_ had been included in the Tyrannosauridae
based on pelvic characters. These pelvic characters alone do not seem very
convincing for including _Stokesosaurus_ in the Tyrannosauridae.

This "_Stokesosaurus_" basicranium (incomplete, but well-preserved) comes
from the Cleveland-Lloyd Quarry of Utah. This is a silly question, I know,
but can anyone tell me if this site is the same as Dinosaur National
Monument?
