SVPCA 1999

Though Richard Ellis tells me I shouldn't be wasting my time on
email:), I have to write seeing as I've just received the
provisional programme for this year's SVPCA (Symposium on Vertebrate
Palaeontology and Comparative Anatomy - Europe's version of the SVP
meeting). Held at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh,
between 8th and 11th September, and with its official meal being held
at the world famous Edinburgh Zoo, I think this will be one of the
best SVPCAs ever, a fact also reflected by some of the people
scheduled to attend. Oliver Rieppel, Ewan Fordyce and Hans Sues will
be joining us for (I think) the first time.

Talks scheduled to occur (I am not giving the full titles as it would
take too long - I have to leave and feed the cat in a few minutes)
include....

D.S. Brown: Hugh Miller's plesiosaur
L.F. Noe: Kimmeridge pliosaurs
O. Rieppel: Cyamodontoid phylogeny + biogeography

Many more talks and numerous posters are also scheduled. I'm looking
fwd to it, though terrified at the prospect of doing yet another
laughably bad talk. I will follow this with another at SVP.
