Dinosaur Display May Be Largest in World
AP 12-JUL-99

(Thermopolis, Wyoming-AP) -- They think they''ve got a world record
dinosaur on their hands in Wyoming.

It's a Seismosaurus that's more than 134 feet long. The newly
reconstructed dinosaur is now on display at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.

Dinosaur Center officials say the big beast is 50 feet longer than the
next largest dinosaur on display anywhere.

They also say the largest animal reconstruction of any kind previously
was a 101-foot blue whale at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.

Dinosaur Center officials plan to submit their claim to the Guinness
Book of World Records.

The seismosaurus will remain on display in Wyoming until August. Then,
it will be disassembled to travel to "Dinofest 2000" in Chicago and from
there, to the Smithsonian.
