Re: Dinosaur Man (was Re: Dinosaur = extinct animal)
Grant (and others):
Grant said: "There must be more than three, then. " That must
definitely be the case, as a copy of the sculpture [ _Stenonychosaurus_
(_Saurornithoides_)] and a life-size photo of the dinosauroid" ] were on
display at the Academy of Natural Sciences (ANSP) from 1986 through 1998.
When the Cerzkas' show [the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History's
travelling exhibit of dinosaur art, DINOSAURS PAST AND PRESENT] came through
here in 1989 (?), we had 2 _Stenonychosaurus_ sculptures and one dinosauroid
sculpture for a few months. My understanding was that the dinosauroid
sculpture was designed with suggestions from Dale Russell.
(As an aside [whisper, whisper], when people looked at the photo we had
(which was pasted onto a mirror - so you could directly compare your height,
etc.) they cameaway with all sorts of weird ideas:
For example: "The dinosaurs didn't all die out, they turned into
lizard-men, then became people" or "See, some dinosaurs were just like
us!".)
