RE: On the BBC, yeah, yeah, yeah (was Re: Bolide sites?)
>The BBC (yep, British Broadcasting Company)
Just some clarification from a Brit. It's the British Broadcasting
Corporation. The BBC is paid for by British TV watchers by way of a licence
fee (no advertisments on the BBC, thank goodness). The organisation is
committed to what it calls Public Service Broadcasting, i.e. high quality
programmes as a public service rather than the sort of $ orientated pap
that gets put out on commercial stations.
The Natural History Unit is part of the BBC located in Bristol, England.
The NHU consists of an internationally renowned group of researchers,
cameramen and camerawomen fronted by that inspirational natural historian
and veteran broadcaster David Attenborough (he's been at it for forty years
now). It has produced some of the best wildlife documentary series ever
made (IMHO) e.g. Life on Earth, The Trials of Life, The Life of Birds etc.
as well as many half-hour to hour documentaries on virtually every wildlife
subject under the sun.
I look forward to walking with dinosaurs!
