Walking with dinosaurs Re: On the BBC, yeah, yeah, yeah (was Re: Bolide sites?)

For some reason, this show is being made to seem like some sort of guilty
secret...
It is nothing of the kind.
I'm holding in my hand a full color flyer for it:
There will be 6 30 minute episodes
and
a special 50 minute episode entitled The Making of Walking with Dinosaurs.

The producer is Tim Haines. It is a co-production of BBC/Discovery/TV Asahi in
association with ProSieben and France3.

Haines made a film previously called Ice Mummies (which I believe is about the
primitive peoples preserved in ice, but I could be wrong).

The background film was taken at a number of locations around the world (New
Zealand, Chile, etc.) and the dinosaurs will be done with "state of the art"
CGI, probably by a particular japanese company that specializes in this sort of
thing. nearly 40 books have been contracted to go along with the series,
although at the moment, Mr. Haines is taking sole credit for all of them.

It's clear from the photos that there are also models of some sort involved.

You can all the BBC on the phone yourself and verify this (I'm STILL not sure
why everyone is being so namby pamby about this) at:
