Postdoctoral position in paleoclimatology/ - oceanology

The GEOMAR- research center for marine geosciences of the
Christian-Albrechts- University at Kiel/Germany is seeking applicants
for a postdoctoral positon in paleoclimatology- or oceanology. The
position is available for two years and funded (BAT II a) by the DFG
(German Science Foundation / Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).
The aim is to develop paleoclimatic- and oceanic models of the
Cretaceous with the help of numerical Ocean-Ciculation-Models (GCM) and
associated earthsystem-models.

We´re looking for applicants which already have knowledge in the use and
interpretation of GENESIS, IBIS or other GCM related programs, which
have been developed to reconstruct paleoclimates (incl.
oceanic-circulation and the relation between climatic and biologic
factors).

The successful candidate will work together with several specialists for
the cretaceous climate and oceanology from the GEOMAR, the universities
of Bremen, Oldenburg, Bochum and the Alfred-Wegener-Institute in
Bremerhaven
