Ostrom Symposium flies by
The Ostrom Symposium was a great success, with (I heard) 340
attendees. The talks were a fascinating unfolding of the wings of
birds and their link to dinosaurs. Dinolisters were well represented
as speakers and guests, and we all had great learning and socializing
opportunities.
The gala opening of the exhibit on Friday night was fun, with strolling
Chinese-costumed "performers" and a big-band orchestra. The specimens
were wondrous: feathers? Yes!
John Ostrom got well-deserved standing ovations, and the love and
respect for him shown by the crowd was thrilling. Jacques Gauthier is to be
congratulated for a fine symposium and museum exhibit.
