Nieuwland and John McPhee
I just want to let you all know that, if you haven't been there yet, visit
Ilja Nieuwland's website at http://www.let.rug.nl/~nieuwlnd Here you can see
the art of Gerhard Heilmann, who's ideas and art were decades ahead of its
time. His paleolife art, mainly pen and ink, is exquisite, and Ilja provides
us with images most of us have never seen.
I made a visit to the library today and discovered that John McPhee's
wonderful books about geology and geologists have been gathered up in a single
volume, _Annals of the Former World_ISBN 0-374-10520-0 This is must reading.
What a wonderful title! Dan varner.
