    Is this really a necessary posting?  If other people (Bob Bakker, etc.)
have confirmed that Ray has found real dinosaur footprint tracks where other
people have only found mere traces, his finds are still good - regardless of
his previous beliefs or long-ago statements.  Some people have the knack to
find things where others don't.  I have a friend (Call him "S") who usually
finds fossils more easily than most people (He does find dinosaurs on
occasion - making this a sort of legitimate posting to the Dino list).   "S"
was on a collecting trip with several others (in Nebraska - I think), and
had been having little luck for a few days.  The rest of the group had been
finding Oreodont skulls left and right, but "S" had no luck.  Another friend
took pity on him, and offered "S" one of his Oreodont skulls to dig out.
"S" sat down and started to work.  After awhile, "S" felt uncomfortable
where he was sitting and investigated underneath himself.  "S" had found a
nearly complete saber-cat skeleton and skull!

    As for Ray's statement to Paul Willis ("You sound more like a soothsayer
than a scientist!") - Well, as a former soothsayer, wouldn't Ray know how
one sounds?  :-)   Ray was defending his find and his identification, and
Paul was questioning the ID.  Both had legitimate postings, but Ray was a
little overboard in his own defense.  I believe that some action was taken
at the time.

    I think your postings are a nearly a perfect example of an 'Ad Hominem'
attack.
