According to Ralph Molnar (and I think Paul Sereno as well) _Muttaburrasaurus_ is not an iguanodontid, nor even closely related to _Iguanodon_, but probably lies closer to the base of the Euornithopoda (perhaps as a basal iguanodontian). A "thumb-spike" reported in the original description of _Muttaburrasaurus_ (Bartholomai & Molnar 1981) was re-interpreted more recently by Molnar as an indeterminate bone fragment. _Mutta_ might turn out to be a big-ass relative of certain Aussie hypsilophodonts.
