I wonder if he would be convinced if he found _himself_ in the grasp of a
feathered tyrannosaurid? <g>
I have not read the book, and read only a little of the first edition, so I
don't know whether or not to recommend it. The appearance of the paperback
implies that any leftover copies of the hardcover first edition will soon
hit the remainder racks. The main thing you'll be missing by buying the
first edition will be his response to the last three years of discoveries
-- the original appeared at almost exactly the same time as Sinosauropteryx
was announced. If you're interested in what he has to say about the
relationship of birds and dinosaurs, that's probably the most important
chapter in the book. -- Jeff Hecht
