Basal Ornithischia teeth!!!!!!!
Hello all
I have isolated some dental characters for a probable phylogenesis of the
basal Ornithischia (expecially the genera known only for teeth) and the
characters are as follows: - low triangular teeth crown in lateral view -
recurvature absent from maxillary and dentary teeth - well developed neck
separating crown from root - prominent large denticles arranged at 45° or
greater to the mesial and distal margin - premaxillary teeth distinct from
dentary/maxillary teeth - maxillary and dentary teeth asymmetrical in mesial
and distal views.
All these characters are present in the basal Ornithischia (Galtonia,
Tecovasaurus, Revueltosaurus, Lucianosaurus etc) but there are some
characters (although I think this is characters) that are present in some of
the basal Ornithischia (es. Lucianosaurus Technosaurus and Pekinosaurus) and
absent in other, the characters are - presence of accessory cusp - presence
on both labial and lingual side of fine longitudinal striations; well if I
use these as characters I'm right or no?
By and thank's
