Bob Bakker wrote in his Dinosaur Heresies book that Cretaceous grazers - as
opposed to Jurassic browsers - exerted selective pressure on plants. They
cropped both "gymnosperm" and angiosperm saplings, but the latter's
reproductive system allows faster recovery and promoted their propagation.
