Hi All -

        Here's a batch of new references I've recently acquired:

Buffetaut, E. and V. Suteethorn,  1999.  The dinosaur fauna of the Sao Khua
Formation of Thailand and the beginning of the Cretaceous radiation of
dinosaurs in Asia.  Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology
150:13-23.

        Fairly self-explanatory...

Cannon, W.  1999.  Stories in stone read from ancient leaves.  30:  34-38.

        A report on recent field work ISO insect damage on Eocene leaves
from Washington state by paleobotanist Kirk Johnson (famed for his K/T
boundary floral work) and C.C. Labandeira (paleoentomologist of the
Smithsonian).

Elorza, J., H. Astibia, X. Muerlaga and X. Pereda-Suberbiola,  1999. 
Francolite as a diagenetic mineral dinosaur and other Upper Cretaceous
reptile bones (Laño, Iberian Peninsula):  microstructural, petrological and
geochemical features.  Cretaceous Research 20:169-187.

        For those interested in taphonomy and diagenesis -- the work also
purports to glean paleoclimatic information from the fossils.

Janis, C. M. and C. Farmer,  1999.  Proposed habitats of early tetrapods: 
gills, kidneys, and the water-land transition.  Zoological Journal of the
Linnean Society 126:117-126.

        Certainly not dinosaurs, but I know some people on the list are
interested in this area, too.

Lockley, M. G. and M. Matsukawa,  1999.  Some observations on trackway
evidence for gregarious behavior among small bipedal dinosaurs. 
Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology 150:25-31.

        Notes the possibility of herding-type behavior in small dinosaurs
based on tracks -- particularly theropods, but also ornithopods.

Lucas, S. G., J. W. Estep, A. B. Heckert and A. P. Hunt,  1999.  Cynodont
teeth from the Upper Triassic of New Mexico, USA.  Neues Jahrbuch fur
Geologie und Palaontologie, Monatshefte 1999:331-344.

        Again, not dinosaurs, but of interest to those keeping track of
faunal diversity and taxa alongside dinosaurs in the Chinle Group.

Marshall, J. E. A., T. R. Astin and J. A. Clack,  1999.  East Greenland
ntetrapods are Devonian in age.  Geology 27:637-640.

        Goes a long way towards settling the age debate for _Acanthostega_
and friends from the icy north...

Wilson, J. A. and M. T. Carrano,  1999.  Titanosaurs and the origin of
'wide-gauge' trackways:  a biomechanical and systematic perspective on
sauropod locomotion.  Paleobiology 25:252-267.

        A long-awaited analysis comparing sauropod limb morphology (ties in
nicely with Wilson's _JVP Memoir_) and the dichotomy of sauropod trackway
morphologies.
