Fossil auctions

Hello all,

I am aware that a significant proportion of palaeontological specimens
consigned into natural history auctions are entered into such sales by
professional palaeontological researchers who are typically disposing of
surplus specimens to part-fund their research activities. Would any such
parties be so bold as to contact me - either on or off list - to provide
me with specific instances, and what their criteria are as regards which
specimens to dispose of? (This request is made in connection with my own
current PhD research into palaeontological site conservation and the
control of collecting pressure.) Thankyou for your assistance (assuming,
of course, that some will be forthcoming).
