Re: Jurassic Park
Jonathan:
The T. rex was pretty good; there were only some minor problems with
it. The arms were too long and some scientists think they didn't hang
the way you see them in the movie. T. rex also would have had a big
bump under its legs that made the skin down there stick out a lot more
than you saw in the movie.
There's also a scientist bent on proving that naughty mice would trip
a T. rex if it ran as fast as the movie said! But let's not bring
that up on this list.
The velociraptors were way too big. Some scientists think that they
were very maneuverable but not as fast as everyone makes them out to
be. There were a lot of anatomical problems with them too.
It seems pretty clear that at least some dinosaurs (probably all of
them) had tough beady skin rather than the wrinkly elephant skin you
see in the movie, but it would have been VERY hard to illustrate that
kind of skin!
This is a quickie answer! There are some websites that talk about JP
and real science -- maybe someone would post a url so you can check it
out.
Hope this helps,
Larry
