Post SVP Symposium
Since the subject of the SVP has come up, I thought I might also ask about the
post SVP field trip and the Lower Cretaceous Symposium.
First off, I would like to publicly thank Jim Kirkland for his highly
complimentary review of my paper and especially for his exhortation for a
benefactor(s) who might help me with funding so that I may attend the meeting
and give a talk on the Arundel.
As a result of Jim's plea, I have been notified that through an anonymous
benefactor(s) funds have been made available to _help_ cover half my expenses
so that I may attend the symposium. After consulting with my expecting wife,
I am glad to say that I am now in a position to accept this most kind gesture.
With such an opportunity now within my grasp, how can I now refuse?
I most humbly and graciously accept!
The ball is now in motion and I while I will not be officially attending the
SVP, I will be in SLC on Saturday for the purpose of doing the field trip to
Fruita. So maybe I will see some of you at the watering hole later that
evening?
I am also asking if anyone out there plans to attend the symposium and the
field trip? I could use a room mate once we arrive in Fruit which would cut
expenses even more for both parties. I don't smoke but don't care if you do.
Please reply off list.
Thank you again Jim and to my anonymous benefactor!
Cheers,
