Yes the species originally called Gigantosaurus africanus is the type
species of Tornieria. However it is certainly a true Diplodicid (a member of
the clade that connects Apatosaurus to Diplodicus to the exclusion of
Dicraeosaurus)so Tom's original point still stands. Are there any
apomorphies that might indicate that Torneria and Barosaurus could be
synonyms?
