Dinosaur coloration - another side issue

Regarding the issue of coloration:

Within the past year or so, some mathematical team found a fractal
equation that could describe the coloration of a rather large set
of mammals.  The equation took some basic parameters of size and
shape, and output a good example of any chosen species.  

Has anyone gotten these and applied them to dinosaurs?  Admittedly,
I don't know how well they applied outside of Mammalia, but extending
the equation may be a simple matter.  By chance, does anyone know
more of this?
