RE: Raptors

this is a topic that always gets me going.. i don't know, pet peave or
something.....

the movie starts with the paleontolgists digging in Montana (isn't it?)
or some other mid western state.. they find
a fossil and the male lead (forget name) identifies it as
"Velociraptor".

Velociraptor lived in Mongolia..... it was 6 feet long. a lot smaller
than the "raptor" that was depicted in the movie.
The dinosaur that I feel was shown in the movie, was robbed of its true
name, and called velociraptor was Deinonocus (sp?). Deinonocus was
Velociraptor's larger, North American Cousin.

I don't know why.. it always just bugged me about the movie. Either they
should have made velociraptor smaller or they should have given
Deinonocus his due.

And don't even get me started on the Dilophosaurus neck frill lthing!
