Greg's Dinosaurs
I'm not trying to favorize Greg Paul (although I would like to), but as a dino
artist,
myself, I should try to defend what is RIGHT of him to draw, but that many
people
misunderstands:
"Silly looking horse-necked Hadrosaurs":
Based upon VARIOUS mummyfied specimems (AND species) where nuchal ligaments in
the neck
region has been preserved. This was strong and compact, and attached allmost to
the top
of the back, making the neck very horse-like. Allso throut pouches has been
found.
"Spined dragon-Sauropods"
Lately there has been found nice traces of spines from a ?unnamed sauropod (the
one I've
seen was unnamed). The spines where low and broad, but would have been taller
in life.
"Big throuted Stegosaurs"
The big throuted Stegosaurs are allso based upon real evidence - a little bit
easyer to
find that the two previous. The pouch is simply called _gular puch_ and is
composed by a
mossaic of gular ossicles. The pouch may have been covered by ceratine, and
been a
defence for the vurnerable throut.
