Re: educational materials
Thank you for the appropriate and to the point position on the real issues at
hand. All of us want to be generous, and to encourage others, whether that be
children or adults. However, these scenarios on the list are being taken out
of their reality and being touted as something extraordinary. My daughter
collected fossils when she was first learning to walk. We read and still read
higher level paleo books together, she has been a tour guide at a museum at
age 10. But there are many children that have just as wonderful capabilities,
this doesnt behoove the members of the list to take action on these requests
as anything out of the ordinary. I think that the 3 year olds story is neat,
however, I feel it was inappropriate to request special attention from the
list to secure specimens or materials readily available at numerous locations.
As for the young man that quit school and only wanted to study paleo, I would
hope that he was given some counseling, ( I have a license as a counselor),
rathere than encouragement to continue on the course he was on.
OK, enough already, lets get the list back to Paleontology. Isnt that
why we
all subscribe in the first place?
