NG Explorer _Suchomimus_ feature

National Geographic Explorer aired a 30 minute feature on _Suchomimus
tenerensis_ this evening (the last half hour of the program). The desert
scenes were great, capturing the gritty dig and the fossil bones which
were lying exposed in the remote region of Niger, especially the foot-long
claw. The presence of armed guards to protect against bandits was also
telling.

The reconstruction of the bones and the associated commentary were
also interesting. Boyd Matson (host of the program) mispronounced
Ténéré, but that wasn't as bad as NBC and CBS News, which pronounced
_Suchomimus_ as Sook-oh-MIM-us and Sook-oh-MEEM-us, respectively.
