Sequoias are the tallest modern trees and relatives have been found in
the fossil record.
Early redwood forests would probably be comparitive to today's redwood
forests.  Several west coast pretrified forests seem to cooberate this.
Early decidous forests would also be pretty comparitive to today's.
Cicad tree varieties and tree fern varieties were greater in the past
then today and I'm not sure what heights they reached.
