I'd have to say my favorite group is the therapsids, but all-time favorite ancient animal is without a doubt the semiterrestrial temnospondyl Eryops megacephalus. A wonderful animal, mighty piscivore, and besides, it provided the sphenacodonts with food enough to survive and become the therapsids... Sincerely, Christian Kammerer
