Form, Function, Fossils
Fellow inmates,
Here's an enlightening review paper for those interested in life beyond the
cladogram (the 'natural history' of extinct organisms):
Hickman, C.S. (1988) Analysis of form and function in fossils. American
Zoologist, 28: 775-793.
Most of Hickman's examples are invertebrates, but the general principles are
easily extrapolated to dinosaurs.
