SAUROPHAGANAX
(King of the reptile eaters)
Saurophaganax maximus (Chure, 1995, type) was originally described as an
independent genus, but was later re-classified as a species of Allosaurus
(A. maximus) by Smith in 1998. It is known from a mid dorsal neural arch
found in the Brushy Basin Member, Morrison Formation, Quarry 1, Kenton,
Cimarron County,
Oklahoma, USA.
