December Dinosaur tv
Since Larry is using the triangulation method for finding Bermuda,
here are some December dinosaur tv highlights to watch for:
National Geographic Explorer
Sunday, December 13 - 7:00 p.m. EST
"Dinosaur Fever"
> Longer than a city bus. Weighing close to 50,000 pounds. Each
> footfall pounding the ground with a force greater than that of an
> eight-ton wrecking ball. It's an adult sauropod, one of the dinosaur
> giants and one of the largest land animals that ever lived.
> University of Chicago paleontologist Paul Sereno searches for the
> bones of the beast through the desert heat of the Sahara in
> EXPLORER'S _Dinosaur Fever_. Two colleagues who share the
> mission, brothers Jeff and Greg Wilson, unearth a skeleton of
> the titanic creature. The quest culminates with a rare prize: a
> sauropod skull, delicate and easily destroyed, that housed a
> brain as big as a ...baseball.
Discover Magazine - December 23 - 9:00 p.m. EST
"BONES"
> Nature evolved skeletons to give bodies a solid frame, but their
> durability has a side-effect: bones can provide valuable clues about
> the life and death of the beings they once held together. Were two
> accident victims really the targets of murderers? How did Neanderthals
> hunt large animals? And were the dinosaurs really cold-blooded after
> all? Their skeletal remains have detailed stories to tell.
This may be the program which features Luis Rey's paintings and
restoration of _Sinosauropteryx_. If not, one is coming up soon.
