Please, let me clarify before I am flamed.  I have no idea what impact
the impact (pun intended) had on Cretaceous life.  That was a large IF
in front of that figure referring to an earlier post.  All I know is
there's a large crater in the Yucatan peninsula and it had to have
released more energy than one can imagine.  I suspect there was a great
affect on life but I_don't_know that for sure.
