perhaps you meant Bighorn Sheep?  The smacking together of Bighorn Sheep
can be heard from quite a distance away-hardly possible if they just
hunkered down to push on each other.  

Mountain goats have these very short straight up (and only slightly
curving back) pointy things whereas Bighorn Sheep have broad recurving
horns with large flat areas across the ramming surface (hence the term).
