I think the reference that you are looking for is a paper in the Journal
of Vertebrate Paleontogy by Mary Schweitzer entitled something like the
preservation of biomolecules in the Cancellous bone of T.Rex.  It was
released in the Spring of this year (April, May, or June issue of JVP).  I
have the paper, I just don't have it with me as I'm writing this.
