Sulfides

Some months ago there was a great deal of discussion about pyrite disease. A
publication (and or web site) discussing the chemistry was mentioned. At the
time I thought "that's interesting but I don't have time to run this down",
now I need to see tha paper. Specifically I want to see what the paper has to
say about the whole oxidation process and the series of products. More
specifically ferrous sulfate has several hydrates. A friend treating some
bones with a bad case of disease and what appears to be a sulfate coating
believes he's seen an irreversible hydrate change and is wondering if he is
getting oxidation from ferrous to ferric (or mixed) sulfate and some other
ferric salts.

Can anyone direct me to the proper paper? Thanks.
