yes-but ever see an Albatross taking off-they don't call them goony
birds for nothing-doesn't mean it's not an efficient flyer once it's up
there.  Aesthetics are rarely enough to cause the making or breaking of
an entire species.  Ridiculous doesn't eliminate the possibility in the
least.
