If you want to pick nits, the H-is-for-hydrogen fusion bomb wasn't 
invented until the early 50's.  The WWII bombs were good old 
A-for-atomic fission bombs.

Actually, this brings a question to mind.  If the U.S. and the old 
U.S.S.R. and Britain and France and China and everyone else had let 
loose all at once in the much-feared MAD nuclear holocaust, would the 
soot and fallout have left a geological trace?  Would paleontologists 
of the future note a uranium or plutonium anomaly at the topmost 
layer of Cenozoic deposits?  I always wondered.
