Er, that was a joke.  I think it is a completely ludicrous proposition that
_T. rex_ (or _T. bataar_ or _T. luanchuanensis_, for that matter!) couldn't
see what wasn't moving.  As I recall, this notion came out of the first _JP_
novel, where it was based on vision in amphibians, of all things!
