Re: Extinction
Extinction does not have to mean a species failed. Life can only do
so much. If a planet hit the earth and the earth careened off into
interstellar space, would you say that life on earth was a failure?
If and when the sun becomes a red giant and comsumes the earth, will
extant organisms be considered failures? Any species needs time to
adapt to change. Species that do not survive loss of habitat and/or
whatever and become extinct have only failed to adapt.
Extinction means being extinct or in the act of becoming extinct.
Extint means to not exist or be living. Failure is not mentioned.
