Re: The Science of JP and LW

I received the book this summer and plowed through it in an
afternoon. The coverage of modern genetics and DNA recovery
techniques was very good. Unfortunately, that was about all that the
book covered--a better title might have been "101 Reasons Why You
Can't Build A Dinosaur." I would have liked for the book to correct
some of the inaccuracies in the novels and the movies, like
"Velociraptor wasn't 8 feet tall, it wasn't as fast as a cheetah, and
it probably wasn't an instinctive door-user." Alas, after chapters
and chapters of genetics there are a few pages on dinosaur diet,
veterinary medicine, and choas theory, and then it's all over. It
wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't what I wanted.
