A RARE FIND INDEED

Just wanted to inform you sall of the bounties of university libraries.  I
was at the University of Washington today, browsing as always, but actually
looking for Santa Luca's paper on Heterodontosaurus (with no luck I might
add), when I came across the most amazing thing I's ever seen:

The American Museum Novitates from 1918 to 1925 in volumes labelled "Results
of the Central Asiatic Expeditions"!  Inside are the original descriptions of
Psittacosaurus, Protoceratops, Velociraptor, Oviraptor and Saurornitholestes
as well as a whole slew of mammal stuff.

That is not even the coolest part.  An the inside cover of both volumes,
there is the handwritten note:

"To Joseph F. Rock
from
Roy Chapman Andrews"

!!!!!!

I am surprised this is sitting out on the shelves, the way it is.  It is
amazing.  I unfortunately ran out of time copying, as I also found the
results of the Polish-Mongolian expeditions.  All I had time for was the
little theropods paper and copying of the inside cover.

I just thought I would share part of my happy day with all of you people who
actually understand the importance of what made me happy :-)
